Assistant Recreation Specialist
The Recreation Services Division is hiring for a Part-time Assistant Recreation Specialist II.
Duties:
- Professional work assisting with developing, coordinating, planning, implementing, supervising, instructing, and evaluating various County-Wide and Community-based programs for youth and teens, year-round including summer camps, youth developmental programs/sports, and special events.
- Responsible for transporting program participants.
- Assists with facilitation of programs/services; interacts with participants and volunteers with and without disabilities, inclusive of youth, teens and adults.
- Formulates new programs and meets with the public, parents, groups, schools, and organizations to provide information and further public relations with the County.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience organizing and supervising recreational activities.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must pass level II background check prior to start.
Must possess current CPR/AED/Adult/Pediatric certification at time of application OR obtain within six (6) months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Working with indoor/outdoor recreational activities or leisure/athletic programs (or related volunteer experience); working with culturally diverse youth, teens and adults (must specify on application). Bilingual (Spanish/English and/or Creole/English). Also desirable: Current FL Class B or C CDL with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements
