This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $134,435(GS-13 Step 10).

In this position, you will provide authoritative advice and guidance to CBP offices and outside officials in planning, developing, evaluating, and carrying out all aspects of the CBP's disability employment and reasonable accommodation program providing expert guidance/technical advice on targeted recruitment of Veterans with Disabilities, Individuals with Disabilities, and reasonable accommodation of employees with disabilities. Duties of this position will include:
- Counselling employees and management on their legal rights and responsibilities under equal employment opportunity (EEO) and civil rights laws, including the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Managing a case inventory of EEO-related requests submitted by employees to resolve requests in accordance with agency procedures.
- Performing comprehensive analysis, fact-finding, and investigative techniques to identify solutions to complex problems. Researches and identifies novel solutions to resolve requests within the assigned program.
- Facilitating the interactive process between management and employees to resolve the EEO-related requests in accordance with the appropriate EEO or civil rights law, such as the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended.

Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS 12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Coordinating a caseload of equal employment opportunity (EEO)-related investigations in an electronic database from intake to resolution;
- Researching, investigating, interviewing, analyzing information, and applying the appropriate civil rights and EEO laws to recommend actions based on the research results;
- Facilitating conversations between employees and supervisors to resolve basic EEO and Reasonable Accommodation related issues.
Experience: You qualify for the GS 13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Independently managing a caseload of equal employment opportunity (EEO)-related investigations from intake to resolution;
- Independently identifying and researching complex cases or systemic issues, and then recommending actions based on the research results and implementing solutions;
- Facilitating conversations between employees and supervisors to resolve EEO and Reasonable Accommodation related issues.
- Providing expert guidance on civil rights and EEO programs or projects that involve interpretation and application of highly technical and complex legal and policy issues.
