Mental Health Intern ($45,760.00/YR)
Provides initial mental health and follow-up assessment of persons incarcerated in the Brevard County Jail Complex and facilitates individual and group counseling.
You will have direct contact with inmates.
Qualifications:
Requires a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a behavioral health / closely related field.
Must be a registered intern in a behavioral health field in the State of Florida OR have met all the criteria required by the Department of Health excluding the requirement of being overseen by a qualified supervisor.
Interns will be required to attain Florida Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor within three years of employment. Licensed Mental Health Specialist - $48,089.60/yr.
Previous employment experience in a forensic or correctional environment preferred.
Schedule: 40 hour work week including weekends, holidays and on-call situations. Current opening is for an 8-hour mid-shift. The shift is flexible spanning between the hours of 10:00am - 10:00pm.
