Intern-Workplace Services Field Support

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES:
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Intern (Workplace Services Field Support) in the Enterprise Technology Services Division.

This Job Announcement will remain open until a sufficient number of applications are received.

This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. The selected candidates will be scheduled for 29 hours per week.

There are 2 positions available. 

The qualified candidates for the Workplace Services Team (Infrastructure Services section), will be based out of Government Center West or Government Center East, but will be required to work at any location throughout the County.
 
General Description
Performs support duties in an agency in order to gain knowledge, skills and professional experience.

Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures. Work is reviewed through observation of performance, frequent conferences and reports.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 
Currently enrolled in, or graduated from, a degree-seeking program from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in a computer science (i.e. Information Systems or Engineering) or a field relevant to area of assignment.

Must be at least 18 years of age and must demonstrate student status for the duration of the appointment if currently enrolled.

Special Certifications and Licenses:
None.

Preferences:
1 or more Microsoft, Comptia, or VMware Certifications
Minimum one year experience supporting VDI Endpoints at time of application
Minimum one year experience supporting mobile devices at time of application
Minimum one year experience supporting computers in an Active Directory Domain at time of application
Experience in replacing and reimaging PC's
Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Office
Experience in troubleshooting end user computing
Experience in troubleshooting printers

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Responsibilities Include: 
Troubleshooting and deploying client computers
Installing, maintaining and supporting County staff in the area of Desktop field services
Providing Desktop Support county-wide
Installing Mobile Device Management (MDM) client on mobile devices
Supporting VDI machines
Troubleshooting mobile devices
Must be willing to learn technologies such as: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
Must be willing to learn administration and usage in Microsoft Office and collaboration applications
Performs related work as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical Demands
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
