Salary: $4,030 – $6,178 monthly
Location: Portland, OR. The base position is based in Portland with remote work capability for candidates that reside in Oregon and can report onsite as needed.

This is a full-time, limited duration PAS1 opportunity, represented by a union. Current state of Oregon employees may have an additional option as a job rotation.

What will you do?
As a Digital Specialist, you will provide the technical expertise needed to format and disseminate daily press releases and public meeting notices on the Flash Alert and Gov D email delivery platform. The Digital Specialist will take the lead on managing the platform and providing platform metrics to the Media Public Information Officer for the daily newsletter. The Digital Specialist will coordinate daily with the web and the media teams and post some content on the COVID-19 and vaccine websites. As a Digital Specialist, you will collaborate with the Social Media team to manage the Meltwater media service to develop and disseminate a curated daily COVID media report. This position is a technical communications position and supports the rest of the Health Information Center (HIC) team on key projects and communications.

What are we looking for?
Requested Skills
·       Minimum requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, the Behavioral or Social Sciences or related degree OR
Three years’ technical or higher-level experience directly related to the position under recruitment.
·       This position requires a valid driver’s license or alternate transportation.
·       Skill to communicate effectively with regulatory bodies, individuals and groups from different socioeconomic backgrounds with divergent needs and points of view; to gain consensus among conflicting individuals and groups; establish and maintain harmonious working relationships.
·       Experience working in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads and priorities in dealing with highly complex sensitive and or political issues.
·       Strong technical and written communication skills.
·       Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.

Working Conditions
This position requires the incumbent to work a professional work week where the hours of work fluctuate on a daily and weekly basis. The individual in this position must follow all security protocols and procedures. Extensive use of computer, telephone, smart phones and other technologies is required. Frequent contact with the public, stakeholders, OHA leadership and the governor’s office. Incidental local and in-state travel is required.
