Student Intern Program Spring 2021
EPA’s National Enforcement Training Institute (NETI) is accepting applications for unpaid positions in its Student Intern Program. We also share resumes with other offices. Participants in NETI’s program will work in EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA) and other enforcement-related offices in Washington, DC (virtual now).

We are seeking applications from undergraduates and graduate students in a variety of fields, including computer science, computer programming, data analysis, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, biology, GIS, economics, health sciences, public policy, and government.

Students will work with practicing environmental technical professionals and attorneys on projects related to civil (administrative and judicial) and criminal enforcement, investigations, inspections, targeting/priorities, federal facilities enforcement, state/tribal enforcement coordination. and other matters. Our offices implement and enforce the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, FIFRA, RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA and other environmental laws. NETI’s Student Intern Program includes a series of unique, specialized training sessions on environmental laws and how they are enforced. These weekly seminars provide first-hand knowledge from EPA’s leading enforcement experts.

HOW TO APPLY:
Semester requirement: a minimum of 15 hours per week for 10 weeks. Will work with students schedule. Looking for a student to work a few hours each day on mainly Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Monday and Friday also available. 

Positions are competitive. We look for qualified and highly motivated candidates with superior records of achievement, a commitment to environmental and/or law enforcement work, and who also work well in teams.
