Pre-Production Specialist (Audio/Video) Internship

Position Pre production Intern

The pre-production intern will learn about audio, video, and speech recording hardware and software through demonstration, certification with various vendors, and hands on programming and set up of equipment. In addition to acquiring the skills that would support a career in audio, video, and speech recording system design and implementation; the pre-production intern will have an active role in providing a desired solution for government agency customers.  The intern will have an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge gained by completing an assignment that involves converting audio files to a specified format for an actual BIS Digital customer. The pre-production intern will work directly with the Pre-Production Manager, who will oversee the learning agenda, provide hands on learning, and share detailed feedback and evaluation of performance related to desired skills. 

This is a paid internship, which does require FT work during standard business hours, Monday-Friday. The internship is a 90-day program; at the end of 90 days the company may offer to extend the internship, offer a permanent position, or conclude the internship. 

Responsibilities: The job responsibilities of the Pre-Production Specialist include but are not limited to the following: 
  • Acquire knowledge related to vendors who make audio, video, and speech recording equipment. 
  • Learn how various audio, video, and speech recording devices work together in a system. 
  • Develop skills for programming various unique devices. 
  • Provide support for the following type of devices: 
  • Audio (program and speech, DSP based systems) 
  • Projection and display devices 
  • Video distribution systems 
  • Source control devices 
  • Custom control devices 
  • Audio and video teleconferencing  
  • Digital signage systems  
  • Video wall display systems 
  • RF systems 
  • Acquire knowledge and demonstrate mastery by implementing proper documentation for installation team. 
  • Troubleshoot system issues and determine resolutions for enhancement. 
  • Provide technical support and insight to internal and external customers as needed. 
  • Complete a project requiring converting audio files to a specified format using specific technology reviewed in this internship. 
  • Incorporate performance feedback and evaluation into working skills. 
  • Demonstrate skill mastery through completion of programming specific equipment for various unique customer projects. 
  • Support other related projects.

Education and experience requirements: 
  • Current or recent college graduate with an audio engineering, IT, or related major or focus area of study. 
  • Some experience with Audio, Video, and speech recording devices. 

Location and schedule: 
This paid internship will be performed at the company technology center offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Work will be performed during standard business hours, Monday-Friday.
