RESIDENCY COORDINATOR, ATLANTIC CENTER FOR THE ARTS

JOB SUMMARY
The Residency Coordinator is responsible for various aspects of the residencies, with targeted support in general administration and programming. The ideal candidate will have completed an MFA and will have a studio or other artistic practice. Workweek is Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week, but evenings are expected during the residencies. Any applicant may be asked to lift more than 25lbs. at any point during employment, and the ability to do so is a requirement of this job.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee Residency Application process:
  • Responsible for fielding all residency inquiries
  • Accessing Submittable.com web site and assisting applicants
o   Notify applicants of their selection status
o   Download analytic information from Submittable.com into Excel files
  • Transfer Submittable.com info to Excel workbook format


  • Oversee all processes and communications with Associate Artists-in-Residence
  • Assist Program Director as needed with residency related matters
  • Coordinate all correspondence with Associate Artists
  • Collect bios, photos and responsibility forms from Associate Artists
  • Compile associate travel doc for shared rides from airport, etc.
  • Compile dietary survey for chef
  • Compile Associate Artists’ contact information into Excel spread sheet
  • Prepare ’Welcome Packet’ for associate arrivals, distribute to housing units
  • Initiate and collect financial aid forms
  • Coordinate payments in collaboration with Business Manager
  • Collect thank you letters for financial aid sponsors
 
  • Oversee Associate Artists-in-Residence experience while at ACA
  • Maintain residency tech as it relates to residency program (printers, computers, etc.)
  • Set up and demo A/V presentation equipment
  • Assist with Community Outreach programs
  • Run audio, media and light board (or video tape programs) as necessary
  • Assist le Salon
  • Drive the ACA van to outreaches, etc.
  • Compile and print INsideOUT programs
 
·        Residency Archive Management
o   Backup all digital video archives (expand digital storage systems as needed)
o   Compress INsideOUT video for archive, and share video file with associates via Youtube/DropBox
o   Photo and video documentation of residency programs and outreaches
 
·        Miscellaneous
o   This position is also responsible for providing support for facility rentals and for special events
o   When needed, this position also entails work at two ancillary facilities, Atlantic Center at Harris House and Arts on Douglas, as well as during IMAGES: A Festival of the Arts.
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
o     Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint)
o     Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere)
o     Experience with photo and video editing
o     Experience with file management
o     Experience with operation of power tools and light carpentry
o     Knowledge of fabrication processes
o     An understanding of digital media and software
 
COMPENSATION: $16.59/hour ($34,500 per year and eligible for OT)
 
BENEFITS: Yes (10 days paid vacation, 8 holidays, plus workdays between Christmas and New Year’s Day, paid sick time with approval, 403(b) Plan Matching after one year up to 7% of wages, 70% of Healthcare Premium covered after waiting period)
