Are you a budding filmmaker with a passion for social justice and progressive issues? The Video team is looking for an intern to help expand American Progress’ visual media offerings.

Interns will learn many of the basic skills needed to be a successful visual communicator at a progressive nonprofit by working on videos to be featured on American Progress’ websites and social media accounts. Interns will also have a front-row seat to American Progress’ many events featuring progressive luminaries. This internship is best suited for film, photography, or visual journalism students with an electronic media background who are looking for hands-on experience with a fast-paced team. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and various HD cameras is preferred.

American Progress interns are paid at the D.C. minimum wage rate. As of July 2019, that rate is $14 per hour. Effective July 1, 2020, the D.C. minimum wage will rise to $15 per hour. American Progress also offers interns metro benefits.
