Internship - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Paid Opportunity)

Are you a Human Resources, Human Services, Information Systems, Marketing or Business major interested in applying for a summer internship through the Federal Diversity Internship Initiative (FDII)?

The Washington Center partners with The U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) at varying locations across the US to build an inclusive workforce by attracting a pipeline of highly qualified and diverse candidates. Students that participate in this program are provided with paid roundtrip airfare to and from their internship site city, paid housing, a competitive stipend, and can participate in Career Development webinars hosted by The Washington Center.
 
Requirements: Students must be currently enrolled, on a full or part-time basis in a degree-seeking/certificate-seeking program at an accredited post-secondary institution, and in good standing at said institution at the time the application is submitted. Graduating students may intern the session immediately following their graduation (i.e. students graduating in May/June may intern a Human Resources, Human Services, Information Systems, Marketing or Business major in the summer).

Application Information Needed: Resume, professional statement, unofficial/official transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
 
Potential internship locations include: Seville, OH; New Orleans, LA; Mishawaka, IN; Canandaigua, NY; Gilbert, AZ, Los Angeles, CA; Martinez, CA; Phoenix, AZ; West Palm Beach, FL; North Little Rock, AR; St. Cloud, MN; St. Louis, MO; Washington, DC

Requirements/Eligibility for this internship:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to work a full-time schedule (~40 hours a week) for the duration of the program
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited U.S. college or university and will not graduate before the end of the internship. Candidates with at least a 3.0 GPA will have a more competitive chance of being interviewed/selected.
  • Must have a confirmed interest in the Department of Treasury and the scope of work presented in the job description
