Accounting & Administrative Internship

POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN

POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting & Administrative Intern is responsible for basic accounting procedures and office administration including preparation of journal entries and related schedules, assisting the Finance & Administration Manager with month-end, year-end, and the annual budget and audit processes, procurement program coordination, general office support and record keeping, specialized reports, research and projects, greeting guests, and event coordination support for the organization. This role will provide support to all members of the staff as needed.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
·      Preparation of journal entries
·      Procurement card program coordination
·      Assist with month end/year end close
·      Assist with budget and audit processes
·      Specialized research and reports
·      General office support & record keeping
·        Event coordination support
·        Answering phones and greeting guests

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
·        Support a variety of accounting and administrative tasks
·        Assist in the preparation on month-end, year-end, and the annual budget and audit processes
·        Procurement card program coordination
·        Answer phones and conduct general office duties
·        Provide event coordination support
·        Prepare and conduct specialized reports, research and projects

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
·        Working toward a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normal hours/ days of work 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Description of daily work environment Work area is located in a private office in the Airport Administrative Offices.
