Marketing + Sales Internship

Status: Internship
Position: Marketing and Sales Internship
Overview: The House is looking for interns to help with the Atlanta launch of The House app. We’ll be launching into the Nashville and Atlanta markets in April (we’ve already successfully launched and built markets in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Huntsville, and Birmingham) and will be primarily looking for someone to handle various marketing activities, sales activities as well as content and research management. This is not a one size fits all internship - we will custom create an internship that matches your gifts, wants, and passions.
What is The House?: We’re a growing start-up that tells our app users ‘What's going on tonight’ in terms of restaurants, bars, and event venues based on what day they want to go out, where in town they want to be, and what they want to do. We feature what's going on in town that day at the best spots having restaurant specials, happy hours, brunch, special events, live music, and much more.
Requirements:
  • Must receive college credit for this internship or be willing to market yourself and future resume/LinkedIn as someone who already has real experience when it finally comes time to get a j-o-b.
  • Must be willing to work for 12 weeks and dedicate 10 hours a week to internship.
  • Internship begins late April/early May and ends mid-late August. Flexible based on your schedule. Can’t do this summer but interested in fall/winter 2019/2020? - email me.
What’s in it for you?:
  • Fun competitions amongst interns with cash and prize incentives for top performers.
  • Celebrations just for interns and their friends.
  • You’ll often find yourself going out to eat or listening to music, and posting about it on Instagram as part of “work”. Not bad for a day at the office.
  • Atlanta manager has 100’s of connections to Atlanta start-up’s, the restaurant and hospitality industry, and the music industry. Upon completion of a successful internship we will be thrilled to introduce you to people and write a killer recommendation letter. As a company we have thousands of connections in Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.
  • We want to help you get to where your gifts and passions meet, and are dedicated to your success.
Potential Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with the Atlanta General Manager to promote The House app and grow the Atlanta user base specifically with your school and area of town that you live in.
  • TBD prize to the intern who gets the most downloads
  • Upload new restaurants and ad content into the app
  • Attend and organize marketing events for The House, conduct street team style marketing campaigns, and much more
  • Create an Instagram and Facebook campaign
  • Learn about sales processes, learn how to conduct meetings based on clients tailored needs, learn how to overcome objections, learn how to keep closing along each step of the process.
  • Create your own case study at the end of internship so that you can showcase it at future job interviews.
  • Interview chefs, mixologists, musicians and interesting people
We are highly interested in students who are attending the following schools, but are open to all:
  • Agnes Scott College
  • Atlanta Metropolitan State
  • Atlanta Technical College
