Summer 2019 Delivery/Site Reliability Engineering Intern

Who we are
Every day, journalists at the New York Times report more than 200 stories from dozens of countries around the world on topics ranging from major international events to the best way to roast a chicken. Those stories are read, listened to and watched by millions of users across our web and mobile products.

The primary goal of the Delivery/Site Reliability Engineering team is to build tools, automation and SRE practices for the product engineering teams, enabling them to deliver and take operational responsibility of their software in a consistent way.

Who should apply
Do you have a passion for automation, reliability and performance of large scale systems? Are you interested in learning more about containerization and deploying with kubernetes?

  • Pursuing a Comp Science/Engineering degree
  • Familiar with systems and software engineering, and have experience or interest in learning Go.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Taken classes in networking and data-structures as a part of your program or be enrolled in them currently
  • Interest in automation, reliability, performance, production engineering, and scale
  • Top-notch problem solving skills and solid judgment
  • Passion for the NYT
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate well with a smart, diverse team is a must
