Content Strategist

Content Strategists will be required to write various creative, innovative copy with a commercial twist across a range of media and formats to support marketing campaigns by interpreting creative briefs. This includes but is not limited to video scripts, slogans, headlines and catchphrases for ads and e-blasts, body copy, product descriptions, video descriptions, brochures, blog posts and more.
Content Strategists work closely with other creative production team members and Brand Managers in the conception and production of copy for advertising campaigns and other marketing initiatives.

Candidates must be able to get people to think about and respond to the slogan and brand message. This requires developing an understanding of brand objectives, offering input, and translating those ideas into thoughtful messaging. You must be able to write at length and paraphrase highly technical subjects in a conversational manner.

We’re looking for an impeccable writer that loves being in the heart of the action and can turn out quality work at high speeds. Our ideal candidate can also distinguish tactics from ideas and give strong, confident rationale behind any of their amazing concepts.

 Day-to-day activities might include attending meetings with Brand Managers and the creative team, discussing briefs in detail and conjuring up cool, unique, engaging and creative ideas. After brainstorming ideas with the rest of the creative team, you will sit down and actually write creative copy.

You’ll be working alongside a dynamic team of people within a fast-paced environment. Content Strategists in this industry need to be unfazed by working creatively to deadlines and must carry out editorial and proofreading duties.

At the end of the day, communication and collaboration is the key to success! The work may be challenging and highly pressurized, but it can also be exciting and rewarding.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Liaise with Brand Managers and interpret their briefs
  • Develop creative ideas and concepts
  • Present ideas to the Brand Manager for approval and development
  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy through the various iterations of the project
  • Proofread copy to check spelling and grammar
  • Amend, revise or redevelop adverts or campaigns in response to feedback from the Brand Manager
  • Oversee campaigns through the production stage to completion
  • Work on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines
  • Keep up to date with popular culture and trends
  • Monitor the effectiveness of advertising campaigns
  • Give status update on each of the projects being worked on
 
 
SKILLS:
  • Write copy for marketing campaigns in the form of print ads, scripts, e-blasts, brochures, websites, commercials and other advertising mediums
  • Produce original, clear and credible ideas/messages, and present these to Brand Managers
  • Ability to write catchy, persuasive copy that sells our brands’ products or services
  • Strong command of the English language with an eye to catch spelling and grammar errors
  • A thick skin because your copy will be revised many times
  • Ability to familiarize yourself with our brands, the product, target audience, trends and competitor activities in the market
  • Commercial awareness and good research skills
  • Liaison with brand managers to discuss requirements and core messages and target audience
  • Ability to interpret creative briefs
  • Brainstorming copy ideas and concepts for the visual with other members of the creative team
  • Taking creative ideas and turning them into workable advertisements
  • Presenting initial ideas to the Brand Managers, some of which may be rejected or developed into workable concepts.
  • Reviewing progress, modifying copy until the Brand Manager is satisfied.
  • Monitoring campaign effectiveness
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Work long hours and meet deadlines are both a must

REQUIREMENTS
  • A background in content creation with a strong emphasis on social content
  • Can adapt their writing style to a variety of voices across multiple industries
  • Able to craft a presentation deck in PowerPoint or Keynote to tell a great story
  • A desire to communicate with consumer audiences and evolve messaging to get authentic engagement
  • A strong storyteller who can sell an idea
  • Can think in terms of big ideas - and the tactics that fall underneath it
  • Experience with digital production processes
  • Has a diversified background and a variety of interests to draw inspiration from
  • English, Journalism, Communication or Media Studies
  • Excellent self-motivation
