Department Summary
Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM) is a vibrant department, which comprises five units, and approximately 270 employees: Facilities Services, Utilities & Energy, Campus Planning, Office of Sustainability, and Design & Construction. The units of CPFM strive to provide excellent customer service to the University of Oregon campus and operate with the highest professional standards, communicating and collaborating with customers to support the stewardship of the campus.

Facilities Services (FS) is responsible for the management of human, financial and material resources, the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures related to the operation, maintenance, repair and minor renovation of university buildings, grounds, and infrastructure systems. These services provide the University of Oregon community with a safe, efficient, reliable, functional and aesthetically pleasing learning environment in support of the University’s mission and vision.

Custodial Services maintains a safe, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment in order to enhance the learning experience.

Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide critical, confidential support to a variety of programs within the Custodial unit. This position will focus specifically on the coordination of the Custodial Building Condition Assessment (CBCA) program, Vendor Management (glass cleaning, blind cleaning, pest management), and Leave Program Administration. Duties may include researching and analyzing best practices, facilitating meetings, explaining policies and procedures, and assisting in the development of programs and services. Responsibilities include interpreting and applying the appropriate policies/procedures and rules/regulations with multiple crews on multiple shifts to ensure compliance and to facilitate the smooth functioning of Custodial operations. 

This position serves as the point-of-contact for providing advice, direction, and information including making decisions and implementing action plans of administrative related functions for department manager and supervisors. 

Interactions/contacts occur daily with the campus community in the course of performing work and responding to emergencies. This position will also be responsible for working with vendors and contractors in order to ensure work completion and compliance.

This position works as a member of a team while frequently performing tasks independently. Decisions may be made about the best method and materials necessary to perform a particular task. They may also include setting priorities, assessing customer needs and responding to those needs. 

Work is reviewed directly by the Custodial Services Manager to ensure it is performed efficiently, safely, and meets both expectations and applicable requirements. A performance appraisal is conducted annually.

Work Schedule:
Typical daytime hours with the potential for off-shift support.

Essential Personnel:
This unit may provide essential services during times of emergencies and inclement weather. This position may be required to fulfill essential services and functions during these times.

Minimum Requirements
• Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and
• Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with a CMMS, such as AiM.
• Experience with a procurement software program.
• Experience working with contractors and/or vendors.
• Experience with a custodial unit.
