About Public Citizen

Public Citizen is at the forefront of fighting corporate power and defending our democracy. We organize, lobby, litigate, conduct research, and communicate with the press and public in a variety of ways.

We offer both paid and unpaid internships for people who are passionate about our issues and who want to learn and contribute in a fun and rewarding environment.

Our interns work with Public Citizen staff including researchers, organizers, program directors, campaign directors, press officers, lobbyists, and fundraisers and more. Summer interns will have the opportunity to participate in luncheons with senior staff, networking events, and other activities.

Internship
Public Citizen internships are available year round. Our summer internships are typically full time (40 hours a week for around eight weeks), although we have some flexibility as to hours and weeks.

To apply for an internship, please look our website www.citizen.org/about/careers

Reviews

Public Citizen Advocate

September 2020 - December 2020 Washington, DC
“I liked that Public Citizen pushed me to step outside of myself to help in the push to "Get Out The Vote," during a time of fear andincertainty. I liked the way my coaches focused on my strentghs and help me build upon the skills I already had, that was enouraging and inthe process while building I was able to gain many more talents through the process. My eyes were opened to the background and process is takes to get people to vote.”

“The work environment, the focus on climate change, working closely with the other interns, opportunities to attend congressional hearings, lunch and learns with the different departments, and I really just enjoyed the work I was doing.”
